ABOUT THE GALLERY

Voted one of the best galleries on Long Island
by readers of the Long Island Press

The Twomey Gallery, located in Huntington, NY, is a warm and inviting gallery space featuring the work of two award-winning artists: Fine art photographer, James Twomey III and digital artist & poet, Victoria Twomey. It also includes the studios of both artists. The Twomey Gallery was twice selected to be part of the Hecksher Museum of Art's tour of in-home galleries on Long Island and it was recently voted "One of the Best Galleries on Long Island" by the readers of the Long Island Press.

Both James and Victoria have exhibited work at Long Island museums, galleries and outdoor art shows. As a special service to their customers, their work can now be seen by appointment in their in-home gallery. Feel free to request specific images or themes for your appointment by visiting their web sites. While you will see a sampling of their work here, a more extensive on-line gallery is available at each of their web sites.  Special events will be held at the gallery a few times a year, including the Spring and Holiday shows. These invitation-only events feature light refreshments and visits by local art lovers, artists, poets and musicians. To learn more, visit our Events page and then request an invitation on our Contact page.

James Twomey III is an award-winning photographer whose subjects are nature, rural American scenes and abstract insights into everyday objects. His portfolio features stunning landscapes, beautiful autumn scenes, and unusual views of the everyday world, captured using traditional film photography. Subject locations include Long Island, upstate New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont and Maine. In addition to being featured on the Nikonnet website and TakeGreatPrictures.com, his work appears in Nikon's 2005/2006 Full Line Product Guide and he was interviewed by Herb Keppler for the Sept. 2005 issue of Popular Photography and Imaging magazine. Jim has received many awards since he started exhibiting his work in 1996 from Huntington to Montauk. He has shown his work at b.j. spokes gallery, the "Winners' Circle" show at Gallery North, Hecksher Museum of Art with the Art League of LI, the HAC’s Petite Art Gallery, the Long Island History Museum, WLIW's "Ticket" program on Channel 21, and the LaMantia Gallery.  www.jamestwomeyiii.com  artist's bio

Victoria Twomey is an award-winning photographer, digital artist and poet. Her work has been exhibited at various galleries and outdoor art shows around Long Island. She was named “Artist of the Week” by WLIW’s Ticket television show (Channel 21), received a "Best New Entry – Fine Arts" award at Gallery North’s 41st Annual Outdoor Art Show and her photograph “Flowers on Radiator” was a winner in the Huntington Arts Council’s 4th Annual Juried Photography Show. Victoria’s unique approach produces intimate and intense still lifes of fruit and flowers that range from realistic to the abstract. Her subjects also include other natural wonders such as birds, clouds, fish and butterflies. Everyday objects are seen with the emotional drama of the poet’s heart and the eye of a scientist. The result is a body of work that is beautiful and organically powerful. www.victoriatwomey.com  artist's bio
